Coolie Hat refers to a shallow, conical straw hat, usually woven in one
piece,, with a downward slant from a peaked
crown and with a large brim. Hats worn by Chinese coolies as protect ion against the sun. Coolie Hat was a straw hat
fashion in 1980's. Sometimes styled in
fabric.
