Giovanni Cavagna refers to a Milan-based specialist knitwear designer, from Bergamo, Italy. He is described as discreeet, reserved and does not love the limelight. He entered the fashion scene at an early age following his natural inclinations to choose knitwear.

Cavagna graduated with a Master's Degree in Knitwear Research and Planning from Lineapiu Group, one of the most important yarn producers in the world and took a marketing course at the the Boccono University in Milan. He has had over 20 years of trainings and experiences and active collaboration with highly qualified companies, like Les Copains, Malo Tricot, Max Mara Group, Luisa Cerano in Germany, Mitsumine in Japan, Raffi Menswear Line in the United States, among others.

In 2004, Giovanni Cavagna, has created a new dimension of dressing, highlighting the signature dress in his latest collection with fine threads of the world's most precious metal - platinum. The dress exudes elegance and style in a timeless, classic way but also expresses the unique personality of any person that wears it. The dress is the end result of a fusion of Giovanni Cavagna's creativity and an innovative new yarn developed by Lineapiu Group, the leading materials producer, renowned for their originality in cloobaoration with Johnson Matthey, the world's largest platinum group. The new yarn weaves synthetic fibres and the finest platinum thread into a delicate material that shimmers like no other fabric.

Aside from all of the above mentioned activities, Milanese Giovanni Cavagna also presented his collection in Lakme Fashion Week in India in 2007.

In 2008, the main attraction of Warsaw Fashion Street in July 2008 was the fashion show by Giovanni Cavagna, with whom UPS worked in Italy in 2006. Cavagna presented his autumn/winter collection consisting of 15 dresses. The designs emphasised accessories and the gowns, jackets and skirts were decorated in such a way that the models walked on the Catwalk accompanied by the "music” from the outfits they were wearing.

Also in 2008, in Shanghai, China Spin Expo, Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) presented the Australian Merino Wool Catwalk collection designed by Giovanni Cavagna. For this collection, Cavagna, worked in collaboration with some of the worlds most highly regarded spinners who have contributed to Cavagna's Merino wool collection including; Filivivi, Xinao, Toa Boshoku, Grignasco, Lora & Festa, Südwolle, Hinchliffe, Raumer, Nippon Keori Kaisha (Nikke), Tollegno and Huafeng.

Today, Giovanni Cavagna is the creative director of a group of ten professionals who carry in-depth research in the sector of raw materials, to technical innovations and perfect implementation of the collections.
