Candy Pratts Price is also a popular fashion analyst and trend spotter, she has appeared on many television shows, including the Today Show, Good Morning America, and Fashion Television, and she is the subject of many feature articles and interviews in publications such as: WWD, New York magazine, Time, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times.
She also co-wrote the book entitled "American Fashion Accessories" with Jessica Glasscock and Art Tavee. It is a book commissioned by the Council of Fashion Designers of America. In 2008, she became the winner of the Council of Fashion Designers of America's Eugenia Sheppard Award for excellence in journalism. The Eugenia Sheppard Award is traditionally given to either "a writer, photographer, or editor who has used his or her craft to further the profession of fashion reporting and coverage, or to a creative director, fashion editor, stylist, or artist whose exceptional creativity has shaped fashion visually." Pratts Price fits both categories for a recipient, having championed and shaped fashion from her early career as a window designer at Bloomingdale's to her tenure at Harper's Bazaar and Vogue and, after a stint at Ralph Lauren, jumping into the online world as executive fashion director of Style.com (Vogue's online home), a position she has held since 2001.
Pratts Price's strated her career at Vogue in the late 80's, where she spent eight (8) years as the Vogue's highly touted Fashion Director of Accessories. She served as Executive Producer in conjunction with E! Networks on a documentary about the Metropolitan Museum's Jacqueline Kennedy exhibit and was the creative director of the VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards.
She also became the Vice President and Creative Director to Ralph Lauren. Likewise, she worked for three (3) years at Harper's Bazaar as Fashion Director.
She designed award-winning store windows and displays for Bloomingdale's and the film starring Diane Lane was based on Pratts Price's design.
Pratts Price is a graduate of FIT and has been a faculty member at the Parsons School of Design.
